making sense of menopausE

Medically informed support to help you feel like yourself again

Is this you?

You feel more tired than you should, even when nothing obvious has changed. Your sleep is lighter, or you wake in the night and can’t switch off again. You might find yourself getting irritated more quickly, or reacting in ways that catch you off guard. You eat the same way, you exercise, you try to take care of yourself, but your body is responding differently. And that feels confusing.

Most women don’t immediately think of perimenopause. They think it’s stress, or that they’re not coping as well as they used to, or that they need to try harder to get back to how things were.

Even when you start to think it’s perimenopause, there isn’t always the time or space to look into it. You might save an article to read later, or think about booking an appointment, but it slips down the list. Or might have spoken to your doctor, but left with information that didn’t fully make sense for what you’re experiencing. Information online isn’t clear - it’s so varied and you’re not sure what applies to you specifically. There’s work, family, and everything else that needs your attention. So you keep going. You cope.

This is often how perimenopause begins. Symptoms can start earlier than most of us expect, and they don’t always look the way we’ve been told they will. For many women, they gradually become something that is harder to ignore.

If you find yourself asking, What is actually going on here?

This is the work I do.

About me

I didn’t recognise it at first either.

Things started to change in my late 30s. My energy, my mood, the way I felt in myself. I’m a medical doctor who studied women’s health, and even I didn’t realise what was happening.

It was perimenopause.

What surprised me most was how unprepared I was, given my background. So I went back to the research and the clinical evidence, and listened to the experiences of women going through it. Like you, I found that there is a lot of information out there, and not all of it is helpful or reliable. It is not always clear what to trust or what to ask for.

I believe women deserve to understand what’s happening in their bodies, so they can make informed decisions and ask for what they need. I help women make sense of what they’re experiencing, so they can feel more like themselves again and not have to figure it out on their own.

How i work

This is not generic advice.

I combine medical training, clinical evidence, and real-world context to help you understand what is happening in your body and what you can do about it.

In practice, that means taking the time needed to look at the full picture. In 1:1 sessions we go through your symptoms, your health background, and what has already been tried. We talk through your options, including hormone therapies (including HRT) where appropriate, and make sense of any investigations or tests you have had.

In the membership space and with groups it means getting down to the ‘why’, to help you really understand what is going on in the body and mind. I offer solutions from science and experience, along with guidance for how to apply to your own life. In group work we can apply it to your cultural and social realities.

Many of the women I work with come feeling unsure. They have been told nothing is wrong, but they know something is off. Often they are trying to make decisions about treatments or lifestyle changes, and feel overwhelmed by conflicting advice. My role is to help you understand what is relevant for you, so you have a clearer sense of your options.

Services

Membership space

Your place for real answers

A library of topics women ask about, explained clearly and without unnecessary detail.

You can come here when new questions arise, or when something changes and you want to understand it properly. You’re not starting from scratch each time, and you’re not left trying to piece things together on your own.

I also answer your questions each month.

You will be sharing space with women at a similar stage, asking many of the same questions, and realising how much of what you are experiencing is shared.

1:1 Advisory

Individual support

A one-to-one session where we go through what has been happening for you. Your symptoms, your history, and what you are unsure about.

We talk through options, including hormone therapy if that is relevant, and make sense of any tests or advice you have already been given.

You leave with a clearer understanding of what is going on and what action steps you need to take next, whether that’s a medical appointment, your physical fitness routine, or something else.

For groups

Facilitation and education

Sessions for groups and workplaces who want to better understand perimenopause and how it can show up in day-to-day life and at work.

I explain what is happening in the body, what symptoms to look out for, and what options exist, in a way that is clear and uncomplicated.

There is always space for questions and open discussion, so women feel more informed, more confident in what they are experiencing, and better able to ask for the support they need.
